Important Information: IPE and SA Fairs

Hi everybody. Just a note regarding our fairs that are just around the corner! As very few people came to our fair meeting at Sharon's on the 14th (we know many of you are out of town right now) I thought we should get important information out to the membership through the blog and e-mail. I'm hoping this reaches most of you.

IPE
Our new venue is confirmed in the new arena. We have been given a generous new space and everyone is quite excited about it (No more slogging in the wind/rain/scorching sun/ etc!!!! Can you hear us all cheering?) Set up is on August 26th at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome. There is parking beside the new arena (the arena in on the south side of the fairgrounds). Please bring your items for sale or display. Our booth area is quite large so we'll need lots! Elvi has the list for working shifts. Give her a call and let her know when you can help out. It has also been decided we are doing a sheep-to-shawl demonstration on Saturday at this fair, so we'll have some looms there, as well. We're sure there will be room for more spinning wheels, so bring yours if you want to get a little spinning done, when you're not doing your shift. If you have a finished item for the raffle trunk, please be sure to bring that to Mona. We are not using our usual yellow woven ribbons any longer. Sharon will have new gate entry passes and parking passes for us. They will be on her deep freezer, as usual, to be picked up before you start your shift and dropped off after you finish for someone else to use.

SALMON ARM FAIR
Set up is on September 4th at 2:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Please bring all your items for sale or display. Also set up time is when you can pick up your volunteer bracelet. This bracelet will get you into the fair all three days. You must be at set up to receive one. We also need people to bring display equipment items of all types (weaving, spinning, fibre, et cetera) to fill up the large sheep-to-shawl space during off competition hours. The sheep-to-shawl is on Saturday and the spinning competition is on Sunday. We are inviting everyone to come to a spin in on Friday (all day), Saturday evening, and Sunday (all day). Noelle may be doing some dyeing in her crock pot, during off competition hours, etc. Shirley and Clare are taking care of the tea room, and Susan is doing the children's area.

I hope you've all had a wonderful summer!
